My Third Reflection

Hello everyone !!

         I hope everyone of you had a wonderful weekends. This week I have to complete my third reflection because I was given a task in our previous pedagogy class by our lecture. Madam Ng  told us to find 10 effective teaching strategy and explain which one is the right method for our teaching strategy and we need to explain why in the classroom. I actually have learn a lot of teaching method from my friends. I choose discussion strategy as one of the effective teaching strategy.  While I am majoring in Language and Literature, I think discussion strategy can be an effective teaching for English classroom. Students can discuss essays, speaking and doing group activities together. By doing this they can actually get different opinion and idea from everyone. It is a good method of teaching were students will engage with each other and share their knowledge.

             However, during my classmates presenting I did find that there are few teaching method that I found it interesting which is Role-playing and problem solving approach. Role-playing involve students to act out in the classroom and this is an effective teaching method for students. Role-playing helps students to understand the particular subject better. Such and example for history subject. Students have to act out so that they can have a clear understanding on the topic. And this is an interesting method where students will work in the team and create a role-playing activities.
However, for problem solving is also an effective method where students will tend to be more critical thinking and solving the problem that occurs. Such as an example, for maths question we need to solve it to find the examples and we need to use the formula that are given to us. It is also a good teaching method and are interesting and also important for teachers to implement it in the classroom.

             Besides that, we need to list one teaching method that we disagree as a effective teaching method. During presentation by my friends, the teaching method that i disagree which is feedback. I do like feedback but I find that it is not good teaching method for students in classroom. Sometimes feedback will never take place in the classroom because teachers are more focus on students. And students will tend to be shy and scared to ask question to teachers in the classroom. The will prefer asking after class to teacher or to their classmates. So, I find that it can not be an effective teaching method to students.
